
Ard Van Hoof
Mr. Ard Van Hoof has 30 years of international business experience mainly in the energy sector. He started his career in 1996 as Business Development Manager with Bechtel in the USA, developing independent power plants and renewable energy projects in South America and Asia and was later appointed to set-up business in Indonesia. In the years after he worked for Finnish company Wärtsilä as Commercial Manager-Financial Services in Singapore and for Petroplus in the Netherlands as Business Development Manager EMEA and Managing Director in Spain.
Mr. Van Hoof held several positions from 2008 till 2020 with Vopak as Snr. Business Development Manager EMEA, Executive Vice-President of Vopak Terminals, Executive Vice-President Korea Oil Terminal in South Korea and General Manager of Vopak Middle East in Dubai responsible for overseeing and executing Vopak’s regional growth strategy. From 2020 until 2024 he was responsible for the Storage and Logistics business unit within Oman’s integrated energy company OQ and led as Managing Director its commercial storage arm Oman Tank Terminal Company with its flagship project the regional Crude Oil hub in Ras Markaz.
Ard founded Energy Nexus Development and currently serves as its Managing Director. This advisory and consultancy services company supports companies and investors to develop,
acquire (M&A), restructure, manage and govern business and growth projects related to energy and marine infrastructure in Oman and other GCC countries.
Mr. Van Hoof is the founder and chairman of the Dutch Business Club Oman.
Mr. Van Hoof is a Dutch national and holds a master’s degree in (Business) Economics from the University of Amsterdam with majors in International Management and Business Policy and Strategic Management and Organization.
