Mr. Ahmed Al Wahaibi is a distinguished executive and project developer with over 30 years of leadership experience in energy, infrastructure and industrial investments. As the Founder & CEO of United Investment & Development LLC, he drives strategic partnerships with international investors and technology providers to advance major projects across Oman’s energy and non-energy sectors.

Previously, Ahmed served as CEO of Oman Oil Company (now OQ) from 2004 to 2013, where he played a pivotal role in expanding the company’s investment portfolio from $632 million to $4.5 billion. Under his leadership, the company executed landmark projects such as the Oman India Fertilizer Plant, Sohar Aluminium Smelter and Salalah Methanol Plant. He was also instrumental in establishing Oman Trading International and restructuring multi-billion-dollar energy assets, strengthening Oman’s position in the global energy market.

With a deep background in privatization and energy development, Ahmed previously held senior roles at the Ministry of Electricity & Water (now NAMA), where he oversaw Oman’s first private power projects. His expertise spans project finance, commercial negotiations and corporate restructuring, with board memberships across key industries, including petrochemicals, refining, power, shipping and insurance.

Mr. Al Wahaibi holds a Master’s Degree in Development Management from The American University (USA) and has completed executive programs at IMD Lausanne, General Electric and London Business School.
